DMCA (Digital Millenium Copyright Act)
DMCA is a restrictive U.S copyright law mainly used for further distribution of copyrighted content. This law declares that it is the responsibility of online service/hosting provider to take down the offending content once alleged copyright infringement notice is received.
FlappyHost respects the intellectual property of its clients and third parties. We understand that from time to time there may be situations where one party believes that another is infringing on its copyrights.
In compliance with DMCA act, MilesWeb has adopted procedures for parties who believe that a hosted site on our service is infringing their copyrights. All copyright complaints must be submitted to email@example.com
Web Host Manager, or WHM, is a powerful program that allows administrative access to the back end of cPanel. There are two versions that Flappy Host uses. Reseller accounts get basic WHM. Dedicated Servers and VPS accounts get root WHM, which has features that require root access to the server enabled. Resellers can not have WHM.
WHM gives you a suite of tools to easily do the following things:
1. Create, delete, and suspend your cPanel accounts.
2. Manage and monitor your sites (password resets).
3. Access to check and change all of your domains' DNS zones.
4. The ability to configure your own customers' support requests through cPanel.
5. Permission to check the server information and status.
6. Ability to create your own default page when you create a new account.
7. Access to customize your hosting and control panel with extensive branding.
8. Ability to change your client domain names and user names.
Hop between every cPanel on your account and access/change anything that does not require SQL access.
FTP stands for File Transfer Protocol. Using an FTP client is a method to upload, download, and manage files on our server.
FTP is a commonly used protocol for exchanging files over any network that supports the TCP/IP protocol (such as the Internet or an intranet). There are two computers involved in an FTP transfer: a server and a client.
The FTP server, running FTP server software, listens on the network for connection requests from other computers. The client computer, running FTP client software, initiates a connection to the server. Once connected, the client can do a number of file manipulation operations such as uploading files to the server, download files from the server, rename or delete files on the server and so on. Virtually every computer platform supports the FTP protocol.
This allows any computer connected to a TCP/IP based network to manipulate files on another computer on that network regardless of which operating systems are involved (if the computers permit FTP access). There are many existing FTP client and server programs, and many of these are free.
How TO Use FTP
If you do not know how to use an FTP client, please use our step by step Setup Guides, as seen on the FAQ page. If you already know how to use an FTP client and are looking for the default settings, they are listed below:
HOST ADDRESS: ftp.localhost.com
PASSWORD: your password
REMOTE DIRECTORY: /localhost.com/html/
Website hosting is a service that allows you to upload and store your site's HTML documents and related files on our web server. Our server then makes the files available on the Internet for viewing by the public.
When picking a website hosting plan, you need to have an idea of what you want to do with your website, plus factor in a bit of room for growth. Is your website large or are you hosting a large number of images and/or videos? If so, you need a package with a larger disk space allocation. Do you expect to receive high volumes of traffic to your website? If so, you need a package that gives you more bandwidth. Do you need CGI, PHP, and MYSQL functionalities? If so, select the plan that includes these features.
Yes, you can upgrade your hosting account at any time. All you need to do is login into your domain account and select the hosting upgrade that you would like.
Yes, you can host multiple websites, but you will need to setup a separate website hosting plan for each website.
URL Forwarding allows you to redirect or 'point' your domain name to another location. Most often, this is used if you own multiple domain names and want to 'point' them to the same website. It is also useful for websites that use a free website hosting service, but want the convenience of a domain name.
